The Black History Quiz Bowl. Born in a classroom at my very own Woodridge International by Ms. Danielle Durham, is best explained by a quote given by Ms. Mintz when asked, “Why is it important to you that your students participate in the Black History Bowl?”

I’ve always wondered what it’d be like to be a student at another school. What do they eat? What work are they doing? And most importantly, what are they doing right now? So, I’ve decided to let you all in on just that, but from the perspective of a Woodridge student.

When you think of potential spaces to share your feelings, school probably doesn’t come to mind first. However, the introduction of support groups in school has made many students feel safer to talk about their emotions and experiences.

According to a study by people.com, 51% of Americans finish up their Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve. Yeah, a whopping one day before Christmas. Never in my life, though, has this stopped companies from beginning Christmas sales and advertisements months before December starts. Of course there’s no real wrong answer to this question, but let's see when people think we should start decorating.

It’s a fact as old as time that parents generally know what’s best for their kids, but is that always true? Covid 19 has opened a lot of controversial discussions over the last two years, and this stands true when it comes to getting vaccinated against the virus

Did you know that sharks can be afraid of you? That may seem untrue, but to your disbelief, sharks do not hurt people for the fun of it. Sharks do it because humans can look like food to them, or they are just curious about what is in their territory.

Most people have used or heard of the video-sharing app TikTok, which is very popular amongst children. It is derived from the app Musical.ly, an app that was first released in August 2014. The original app was mainly used for dancing and lip-syncing. However, after it’s transition into TikTok in 2018, a lot of the app’s content changed.

When you were a child, did you ever feel like nobody listened to you? Did you feel that your voice was muted? Well, a nationwide competition called Mikva Soapbox Challenge is finally stressing the importance of letting kids speak up. And luckily for the competition, it had a surplus of participants in the DMV area!

I’ll read every night! I’ll hit the gym four times a week! I’ll travel to a new country! Well, sorry to break it to you, but unless you’re really strong, that’s probably not gonna happen.  According to studies people give up on their New Year's resolutions by about January 12th.

Can you remember what you did during your middle school years? No? Well, this year will be a year that students at Woodridge will not soon forget! For the second year in a row, Friendship Woodridge is officially a Tier 1 school! And I know what you’re thinking.

Do you remember when you were little and used to sit in front of the TV for hours just watching your favorite Sesame Street characters? Chances are that you don’t, but either way, it was probably nothing compared to what Sesame Street has decided to tackle this time. 

Remember H&M’s “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle” hoodie everyone thought was offensive because the company put a dark skinned boy in a hoodie that called him a monkey? Now what is even more offensive is that the luxury, high-end designer company Prada had the audacity to release a keychain that sort of looks like a monkey.

Sister Location is one of my favorite games in the “Five Nights at Freddy’s” series. It is one of those new video games where you have to survive a horror scene. If you like horror movies, then you’re going to enjoy playing this game a lot.

Woodridge recently had the 100th day of school! I have a story to tell about it! Sometimes when my parents are unable to come and get me, my great aunt has to pick me up. My aunt likes doing this because her children also attend Woodridge. Well, on the hundredth day of school, I rode to school with her.
