Woodridge Teacher Wins Big Award

This week, Woodridge’s very own Ms. Sarah Frayer, 2nd grade teacher, has been named the D.C. Finalist for the Sanford Teacher Award! This is certainly a monumental achievement for Ms. Frayer, our entire school, as well as the Friendship community. Boating Across the Anacostia River

On March 22, 2018, Woodridge’s 8th graders enjoyed an entire day out of school to visit the Anacostia Watershed in Southeast Washington, DC. This was a great field trip before heading off for a week-long springbreak. Ms. Beckwith, Woodridge’s 7th and 8th grade science teacher, wanted us to have a real-world experience with science while learning about the watershed community and the impact that people have on the natural world.

The Stand For Meek Mill

Last month a judge sentenced the rapper Meek Mill for violating his probation. What’s crazy is that he was sentenced to 2-4 years in prison. What for? Listen carefully because the story gets to be even crazier. Meek Mill was already on probation for a gun and drug charge that took place back in in 2008.

This year Woodridge Elementary has a LEGO Junior League. This afterschool club is sponsored by our 3rd grade math teacher Ms.Taylor Dow.
